Listen to the stories of industry professionals and learn from their experiences. Ask questions to apply to your own business adventures and find success in your business idea today!


There are only 50 spots in each speaker series. Please register to reserve your seat and dont forget to contact us if you realize you cannot attend.


About the Speaker:

Elizabeth Bowker is a small business strategist, project consultant and educator with an in:depth knowledge of business operations, including budgeting and cash management, marketing and strategic planning, and adult learning practices. She transitions her expertise to her small businesses clients, helping them to build on existing strength in order to reach and then exceed their aspired business goals.
Her strength is in her ability to communicate her expertise to a variety of audiences so it is more easily understood and is most useful to them. She has an engaging and very personable style and is known for being responsive to the needs of clients.
Elizabeth has over fifteen years experience in the private, public and non-profit sectors, specializing in sustainability, communications and transportation. She brings a common sense approach, rooted in solid business practices, to help clients determine and focus on goals and then build detailed plans and strategies for achieving those goals. Through solid planning, inclusive team building, and operational savvy, Elizabeth has been able to help small companies successfully develop in to bigger companies.


Elizabeth began her career as a high school teacher before receiving an MBA from UBC, with additional training in negotiation and facilitation. She has worked for companies including VANOC and TransLink, as well as many smaller businesses in a variety of sectors. She also has a bi:weekly business column in the Alaska Highway News. She currently sits on the Vancouver City Planning Commission.
